Guest Post: Our Female ‘Edge’: We listen to our instinctive moral sense—Men listen to their egos
If you like all of these great freebies and deals, make sure you sign up for my newsletter.
The business world remains well and truly dominated by men. There are still only 21 women CEO’s in the fortune 500 companies, and the same percentage (4.2%) in the fortune 1000. However this is nearly twice as many as there were in May 2011 when there were only 12 women CEO’s at the helm of fortune 500 companies; and 3 times the 7 CEO’s that there were in 2005. It is also interesting to note that 32% of women business owners now say that they actually see being a female in a male dominated realm as an advantage. And it seems they are taking full advantage of it. Women are quickly gaining an increasingly large role in future of American business:

A Tuna Christmas at Cite des Arts
If you like all of these great freebies and deals, make sure you sign up for my newsletter.
Okay, I definitely have a selfish reason for posting this one. My husband is performing in, directing, and producing A Tuna Christmas, a play, and it looks like I will be running the lights and sound. (I haven't done this in years. This is actually how my husband and I met.) The show will run Thanksgiving weekend at Cité des Arts, Nov 21-25. If you are in town you really have to check this one out. It is hilarious.

Publishers, Weakly: What The Penguin/Random House Merger Really Means
If you like all of these great freebies and deals, make sure you sign up for my newsletter.
Here is a post that was submitted to me. I don't usually post these but this one really stuck with me. I love books and reading. Let me know what you think. Here is the guest post from Michael Levin:
When I saw the word “synergies” applied to the proposed merger of publishing giants Penguin and Random House, I laughed out loud. “Synergies” is Wall Street-speak for “Let’s merge two failing companies, fire half the employees, run the resulting business more cheaply, suck out all the money we can as quickly as we can, and then leave the wounded, gasping beast that is the resulting company to die a miserable, public death.”
