Performance Arts Class, Kidz Kabaret at Cité des Arts, ages 9-13, Feb. 27-March 22. Wed-Fridays 4-6pm

Kidz Kabaret is an independent program that showcases the theatrical talent of children in grades 4 through 8. The goal is to give each child an opportunity to perform while learning about all aspects of musical theatre through specific curriculums. It focuses on the individual child and his or her unique talents and abilities.

Over the course of one month, kids will meet weekly with an instructor for three one-hour lessons (one per week) at Cité des Arts (109 Vine St., Lafayette). The children will each choose one song from a musical or movie musical or monologue, rehearse it, and perform it in front of a live audience in a cabaret setting.

This is not a voice lesson; it’s not an acting workshop; it’s not a dance class. It’s all three - musical theatre! It’s Kidz Kabaret! Each year, Kidz Kabaret will present one full-length Broadway musical production where each child who has completed the Beginnerz level will have the opportunity to audition.

Registration for each Kidz Kabaret session is $50. This includes the three one-hour lessons and the Kabaret performance. The performance itself is open to the public with an entry fee of $5. Information regarding the next Kidz Kabaret session is found on the SIGN UP page. SPACE IS LIMITED!
