The biscuits cost maybe $1 for 12. The breakfast sausage this time was $2, and I got 12 patties out of it. The cheese cost maybe $1. So, for 12 sausage/cheese biscuits it cost about $4 or 3 for $1. This is a lot better than a minimum of $1 for a plain sausage biscuit without cheese.
Quick & Easy Sausage Biscuits
Buttermilk Biscuits
Breakfast Sausage
Sliced Cheese
Make the biscuits according to my previous post, Homemade Buttermilk Biscuits without Buttermilk.
Cut biscuits in half to make a sandwich with the sausage, cheese, and egg (optional).
Cut your roll of breakfast sausage into 12 patties and cook.
Cook eggs if you want egg on your biscuits.
Put everything in an assembly line.
Place a sausage patty, sliced cheese (I didn't use a whole slice.), and egg (if you want) on your biscuit.
I wrap each sausage biscuit in wax paper, and place in a freezer bag.
Make sure you label the bag with what is in it and the date.
Viola you are done.
Just pull one out of the freezer and warm it up in the microwave when you are ready to eat one.
I'm going to have to try this! Do they really taste good after being frozen? My fiance likes to eat breakfast, but "never has time" to cook his own breakfast. This would be a great thing to make for him! He could even take it to work if he couldn't find the time to microwave it.
ReplyDeleteMy husband likes them. I don't usually eat breakfast. So, I couldn't really say but I sure haven't heard any complaining. My husband usually warms up his biscuits while he is getting ready or he takes them to school with him and warms them up there. I definitely like seeing the difference in our bank account.
Deletewhat a neat idea!!
