Make Cut Flowers Last Longer

If you like all of these great freebies and deals, make sure you sign up for my newsletter.

How do you make cut flowers last longer?  There are several small steps to make your flowers last longer.  First of all, make sure that you cut the stems of your flowers at an angle.  You should trim them every day or so that it soaks up more water.  Also, make sure that you trim all of the leaves off of the stems that will below the water level.

Next, you can add a little bit of 7Up to the water for the flowers.  If you don't have any you could also use the following mixture to make your cut flowers last longer.  Mix 1 TBSP sugar, splash of vinegar, 1/2 tsp bleach, and quart of water.  You should be able to at least double the time your cut flowers survive.

  1. I worked at a flower shop as a teenager and had to cut hundreds of flower's stems at an angle. This does work though.
