Thrifty Tip: Make Your Own Hair Detangler

I used to have to buy hair detangler all the time when my daughter was little.  She couldn't stand to brush her hair or to have anyone else do it.  It was always full of knots.  So, we bought all kinds of detangler.  Well that is until I started making it myself.

It is so easy.  You can use an old spray bottle.  If you have an old hair detangler bottle, your kids won't even know that you didn't buy it.  You know how some think that you have to buy it for it to be any good.  To make it, all you need to do is mix about 2 tablespoons of conditioner with enough water to fill the bottle (about 10 oz).  How is that for easy?

You can buy any cheap conditioner for this.  You can always find some for around a $1 or cheaper with a coupon.  With one bottle of conditioner, you should be able to make about 20-25 bottles of hair detangler.  That makes each bottle of homemade detangler cost about 5 cents compared to around $3 for a brand name bottle of hair detangler.

Oh, and don't forget to label your bottle, especially, if you have a lot of homemade solutions.
