mLearning Anyone?

If you like all of these great freebies and deals, make sure you sign up for my newsletter.

Have you heard about mLearning?  I'm not talking about eLearning, or not really.  There is a difference.  Usually, with eLearning you can't use your tablet or smartphone.  With eLearning, most of the applications can't be accessed or displayed on a smartphone.  If you take a look around you, you will see most people on their smartphones or tablets.  To tell you the truth it kind of aggravates me sometimes but I love that people can use these devices to learn and better themselves.

Lean Forward has developed a great mLearning source for businesses, government agencies, non-profit organizations, and more.  This is a great resource.  You can not only train employees, but it is a great resource to refresh needed skills.

I took a look around their site, and love that they have an emergency preparedness program.  This was developed by using information from people across the country from local, state, and national agencies.  I love this because we have to be prepared for a hurricane about 6 months out of the year.  I live in Louisiana, and have been hit by several hurricanes.

People, especially in government offices, need to know the ins and outs of emergency preparedness.  With mLearning, they can learn all about emergency preparedness.  In addition, when there is an emergency, they can go back to the mLearning program to pull up information that might have slipped there mind.  Who knows it might include phone numbers, or other important information that they can always have at their fingertips.

This is also great for service technicians.  This is not only great for the service technician but also for the customer.  I know as a customer it would drive me crazy if someone had to leave where ever they are working in my house or car or whatever to go to their car or back to the office to look up how to take care of a problem.  You know I have to pay them a labor fee by the hour most of the time.  Talk about adding loads of time to my bill.  Now, with Lean Forward, they can look up the information on their smartphone (which you know they all have these days) or on their tablet.  It saves time and money all around.

Lean Forward looks at mLearning differently on smartphones and tablets.  With tablets, they can put more information and graphics and get more in depth.  With smarphones, it is more concise learning.  You can use both of these in tandem or use just one or the other.  I love this.  When you work for a company, there are always things that you may forget because you don't use them all of the time.  After you have gone through the mLearning training, you can always go back and pull up the information.  Companies can also use mLearning to assess an employee's job skills.

mLearning is a win-win situation for everyone involved from companies, to employees, to customers.  If your business or you know of a business that could use this, you really need to check out Lean Forward.  They have a little bit of everything for everyone.  They can help you develop a program that is great for your company.
