I meant to post this before the Grammy's but I forgot. It would've been great for a Grammy party. So, I figured I would go ahead and post this now. You can make them for any party but would be great for the Oscar's this weekend, too. These are so easy to make, and only take minutes.
You will need to get a hold of some of your old records (or go buy a couple).
Heat your oven to 185 degrees.
Place your record on top of a bowl that is upside down on a cookie sheet.
Put in the oven for about 5-10 minutes until the record starts to droop down on the bowl.
Pull out of the oven and immediately place in another bowl.
Press lightly down on record with a cloth or pot holder to form the bowl.
If it cools before you get it formed, you will need to put it back in the oven and repeat previous steps until formed.
Let cool in the bowl, It will harden in the shape you form it in.
All of your bowls will turn out unique. They make a great conversation piece. I would put a napkin or something in the bowl before putting chips or popcorn in the bowl. You will still have a hole in the bottom of the bowl.
