Virtual Snowflakes for Sandy Hook

If you like all of these great freebies and deals, make sure you sign up for my newsletter.

You might remember that last month, I wrote about sending snowflakes to Sandy Hook.  Well, they got loads of snowflakes.  They are now asking for people to send virtual snowflakes.

I think this is a great way to let the students, teachers, parents, and the town of Newtown, Ct. that you are still thinking of them.  I still find it hard to believe that this happened.

What I didn't let you know before is that we have a friend that lives in Connecticut.  Her cousin works at Sandy Hook.  It was so traumatic for her.  This is what our friend sent to my mother:
I have a cousin who works as the music teacher at Sandy Hook Elementary. She is one of the heroes of that horrible day, but won't go on TV. She grabbed children out of the hall ( 15 in all ) and barricaded them in her room, refusing to allow that man entry when he pounded on the door yelling "let me in! " She is absolutely heartbroken, as she taught every child and worked with every adult. Please include her in your prayers, her name is xxxxxxxx
I can't imagine what she went through.  It is horrific.  They will have a long healing process.  Please let them know that they are still in our hearts and prayers.  It only takes a moment to pick your snowflake on Snowflakes for Newtown and to write a short message.  Let them know we will never forget.  The teachers are our new heroes.

Also, you might take a moment to thank the teachers that you know for all they do.  They save lives everyday, even if you don't hear about it.  They love their students and would lay down their lives for them.  I know my husband would.
