LAFAYETTE, LA-The Riveters Theatre Troupe is best known for their production of Uncommon Women and Others by Wendy Wasserstein in January of 2012 and co-producing Cabaret by Christopher Isherwood in November of 2012 at Cite des Arts. On January 10, 2013, The Riveters will present Cheaters by Michael Jacobs, opening at Cite des Arts in Lafayette, Louisiana. Michael Jacobs is best known for his production company and creating the television series, Dinosaurs, and Boy Meets World.

In this comedic piece, a young couple, Allen and Michelle, are going through normal young-couple problems. She wants to get married, but he is not sure that he is ready for that kind of commitment. Since Allen is unsure, this causes a fight and for each of them go to their parents’ houses for the night. They both look up to their parents and seek advice from them, but what is different about each of these families is that they are not traditional all-American families.

The Riveters Director/Co-Founder, Martin Smith, will direct this production. The ensemble cast consists of seasoned theatre veterans Elizabeth Satterly, Kristen DuBois, Dustin Lafleur, Billy Walker, and Andre Trahan, and is the debut performance for Leah Pratt. Our design crew, which also consists of very experienced artists, includes Jenna Fontenot, Michael Cato, Bree Quereau, Amanda Lyon, with Amber Izdepski as the stage manager of this production.
