Toy Soldier Ornaments

Here is a picture of some Christmas ornaments we made with the kids years ago.  This is a great ornament to make with the kids and so easy to make.  Sorry, the picture didn't come out to well.  I tried a couple of times but this was the best one.

Here is what you will need:
Old fashion clothespins
Paint (red, black, white/flesh/tan)
Sharpie or Paint pen (gold and black)
Red pom-poms

Glue
String to hang on tree

To make:
  1. Paint bottom half of clothespins black for the pants.
  2. Paint the coat part red.
  3. Paint ball part of clothespin white, flesh, tan or the color of your choice for face.
  4. When paint is dry, paint hands in whatever color you used for face.
  5. Use black sharpie or paint pen to draw arms (2 straight lines to hands), 2 dots for eyes, and 1 for nose.
  6. Use gold sharpie or paint pen to put 3 dots on "coat" for buttons.
  7. Glue red pom pom to top of clothespin for hat.
  8. Tie whatever type of string you want to toy soldier to hang on tree.  I had some gold thread (can't see on this picture) that I used on our ornaments.

Just enjoy and don't worry about being perfect.  It is all about spending time with the family and making memories.
