Chicken Soup for the Soul: The Magic of Mothers & Daughters Review

As you probably know, I love Chicken Soup for the Soul books.  They are always full of such wonderful, inspirational stories and devotions.  They always fill me with hope and joy.

Well, I am running a little behind in reviewing some of their books.  There have been so many things going on with my grandmother's illness and death, my health, and several family emergencies that I just couldn't keep up.  So, you will see several reviews and giveaways (hopefully) in the next few weeks.

No matter what your relationship is with your mother or daughter, this book can give you a great perspective.  I know that my relationship with my mother has gone through significant changes over the years.  The same goes for my relationships with my daughters.  It is nice to hear that I'm not the only one that has had my ups and downs in my relationships with the women in my life.

There are so many wonderful stories about the dynamic relationships between mothers and daughters in Chicken Soup for the Soul:  The Magic of Mothers & Daughters: 101 Insprirational and Entertaining Stories about That Special Bond by Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen, and Amy Newmark.  You might even be able to get a better perspective on your own relationships and/or help you come to the realization that your daughter can come to love you again after those wonderful teenage years.

You can search the book to find just the right story for your mood or read it from beginning to end.  Here are the section headings:
  1. A Daughter's Love
  2. Rites of Passage
  3. A Mother's Love
  4. The Face in the Mirror
  5. Family by Choice
  6. Away We Go
  7. Learning from Each Other
  8. Healing and Second Chances
  9. What Goes Around Comes Around
  10. Dreams Fulfilled
This book makes a great present.  You do not have to wait for a special occasion to give this present.  Besides, it is always nice to get a gift out of the blue for no occasion at all.  You might even give a copy to your mother and/or daughter.  Pick out your favorite story or one that reminds you of them, and point it out to them.  Sometimes, it is difficult to tell them how you feel.  This might be a great way to tell them.

If you aren't ready to buy a copy, you might win one.  Check out my post where I am giving away 3 copies of Chicken Soup for the Soul: The Magic of Mothers & Daughters: 101 Inspirational and Entertaining Stories about That Special Bond.
