This pizza is so easy to make, cheap, and can be made in no time. You can add whatever toppings you want.
Large Tortillas
Pizza Sauce (homemade recipe below)
Your favorite toppings and cheese
Heat oven to 450º. Place tortilla on pizza stone. Add pizza sauce, cheese, and whatever toppings you like. Bake for about 10-15 minutes or until cheese is bubbling and turning brown (or however you like it).
I shared the pizza above with my husband. My side had pepperoni and beef. His was pepperoni, beef, ham, and green olives. I had a small ham that I diced up to use for pizza, stuffing for peppers, and more. I also keep some cooked, crumbled up ground beef on hand for nachos, pizza, and more. Both of these I keep in ziploc bags in the freezer. This way I can pull out what I need at any time.
The pizza sauce is very easy to make, too.
Can of tomato sauce
1-2 tbsp Garlic
Italian seasoning to taste
Mix ingredients together. That is it. If I have sauce left over, I put it in a small container and freeze.
If your family loves pizza, keep your favorite toppings on hand. I cut up, cook, dice, and/or freeze all possible toppings like onions, bell peppers, ground beef, ham, etc. It is so easy when you get home from the store to do this all at one time. It will save you loads of time in the long run, and money (less food will go to waste).
You can also prepare pizzas put them in ziploc bags or foil and freeze them. Then all you need to do is pop them in the oven. However, the kids will love making their own pizzas with their favorite toppings.
If you like a more traditional crust, check out my previous post on pizza dough.

I like the idea of using the tortilla for the crust!

thanks for this great diy pizza!! My husband loves thin crust so this will be a must try in our house!
ReplyDeleteMy family loves pizza too! I am constantly reinventing flavors, crusts, etc. We use the flour tortillas with refried beans, taco meat and cheese, then top out of the oven with the cool lettuce, tomatoes, black olives and sour cream! So goo!
