I've been waiting almost 2 months to post this. It has been killing me because I was (am) so excited about this. I entered the Upromise Dream Wall Sweepstakes in August. Within about a week or two, I got an email saying that I won the weekly giveaway of $1000. I couldn't believe it.
I showed the email to my husband, my mother, and my brother. It was from the company handling the giveaway. So, I was a little hesitant to send my information.
My brother is the go to guy whenever I have a question about anything with finances, products, well, basically anything. I was a little disappointed when I got his response. He thought it was a hoax.
However, when I checked the rules, it had that company listed and all of their contact info was the same on the rules and email. I called Upromise and the company handling the giveaway. Everything was on the up and up. I really did win.
I was still hesitant to say anything because I didn't want anything to go wrong. I still haven't received the check but I am listed on the website as a winner. So, I figured I could finally let the cat out of the bag.
My entry is the 4th one listed. It is called "Bright Stars - Keep Dreaming". As you can tell I am super proud of my daughter, and all of her hard work. I am also very proud of my son and youngest daughter. They are both working hard in school. My youngest is a sophomore, and already worried about getting scholarships.
I know that all three of my kids will do great in school and life. They will do much better than my husband and I am sure. Of course, that won't be too hard because I am unemployed right now, and my husband is a teacher. While I know money isn't everything, it sure helps.
All three of my kids are going after their dreams. They are all working towards doing the things they love and make them happy. That is all a momma can want - for her kids to be happy and be able to support themselves.
So, this proud momma is glad she won a $1000 but she is happier that her kids are succeeding in life and school. So, here is to all of the Bright Stars out there. Keep dreaming.

Congratulations! If I ever got an email stating I won that much, I may not believe it because every day I get a couple emails stating I am a beneficiary, Europe Lotto winner or Facebook lotto winner. Once I get all those check, I will be a multi-millionaire!
ReplyDeleteAll kidding aside, I am happy for you! I enter a lot of sweeps and may actually have a heart attack if I won that much money.
How exciting for you!! And I totally understand that feeling, of being scared to tell anyone until you're really, REALLY sure that you won :) Congrats!!
