I am a little slow on the uptake sometimes.  I didn't start using parchment paper until about 2-3 years ago.  Boy, it has made things so much easier.  I love to bake with parchment paper.  My kitchen is not complete without parchment paper anymore.  It is so easy to clean up, and to move cookies to a cooling rack.
