| My beautiful baby girl. |
About 2 weeks ago, my daughter went to a wedding with a close family friend. Everything was great until the reception. One of the bridesmaids' fathers collapsed on the dance floor. She watched the paramedics try to resuscitate him. They were unable to, and was pronounced dead at the hospital. Turns out he was one of my husband's cousins. She was so upset. It was such a traumatic event for her or anyone else to witness.
A day or so later, our precious dog got out and was hit and killed. The driver didn't even stop. We were all devastated. I still can not believe she is gone.
Two days later, my daughter and I went prom shopping. This really isn't my thing but we did find the perfect dress for my baby girl. The picture above is her in her prom dress.
Later, she drove to the store to pick up a couple of things. On her way home, some guy started following her, and even pulled into our driveway. She was freaking out. She locked herself in her car, until my husband went out to get her. My husband talked (or tried to talk) to the guy. He was as high as a kite. A big white guy with no shirt on and tattoos. While we were in the house calling the cops, the guy got out of his truck and walked around to the other side. It looked like he was relieving himself. Disgusting. He got back in his truck and left before the cops came.
We thought things had finally calmed down. Then this weekend happened. I got sick Thursday night. By the time I woke up Friday morning I was running 102 fever and feeling miserable. I had a horrible sinus infection and some kind of stomach virus. I was not very happy. I didn't want my hubby worrying about me. He had to be in New Orleans for an audition for a movie and filming on another project. He left Friday afternoon, and didn't get back until Sunday night.
I got a call Friday night from my sister in law. Our nephew and wife were at the hospital. His wife was pregnant and due in June. They had to do an emergency C-section. Our great niece was born at 8:05 pm. She is 1lb, 12 oz. She is a little miracle. She is strong and healthy, and only had to be put on a little bit of oxygen. Amazing.
Saturday, my husband called to tell me that a friend of the family and his sister's best friend was found dead in her home. It was a total shock. I'm still not sure what happened. I am assuming a heart attack. I just couldn't believe it. She was only in her fifties.
Sunday, my husband had a great day filming, and came home late that night. I was so thankful to have him home. I was and am still sick as a dog but was at least able to get out of bed.
Then there was yesterday, and more devastating news. My husband stayed home from work. He was exhausted, and I'm afraid coming down with some of my crud. Anyway, we learned that my husband's friend, and his sister-in-law's sister passed away from her battle with cancer. It was upsetting but we were also thankful that she wasn't suffering.
Then we got a call in the afternoon that a friend and fellow co-worker passed away. My husband teaches at Lafayette high school, and I used to. Our friend passed away while teaching. From what we heard, she was in the middle of class, and collapsed. Paramedics came, and she stopped breathing. Everyone is still in shock. I can not even imagine what the kids are going through. Some of my husband's students were in the class when it happened. Today, was a very difficult day for all of the students, teachers, and staff.
So, as you can see, I have been overloaded lately. I'm slowly starting to feel better, and we do have some bright spots. Our great niece is still doing great. She is a miracle baby. My husband had another acting job, and the possibilities of more on the horizon. I just need to remember the bright spots. We will get get through these difficult times, and I promise I will get my focus back. Just bear with me, as I try to get back on track.
Thanks for all of the prayers and support. I really do appreciate each and everyone of you, all of my readers.
